Koska Vappu on kotimaisen työn juhla, käytän simaan kotimaista sokeria ja suomalaisen toimijan valmistuttamaa kuivahiivaa. Tumman sokerin valitsin reilun kaupan tuotteena.

When bottling:

Boil half of the water and pour the water into a clean bucket.

Add sugar.

Wash the lemons and slice them. Remove the seeds. Add the lemon slices to the bucket and sprinkle the yeast on top.

Cover with a kitchen towel and leave at room temperature for one day.

Bottle the mead in clean, tightly closed bottles by putting 1 teaspoon of sugar and a few raisins in the bottle and filling the bottle almost full. Seal loosely to release pressure from bottles. Store the mead at room temperature for 1-3 days until the raisins rise to the surface. Refrigerate the finished mead, as it is best chilled. If you put the bottles in the cold immediately after bottling, the mead will be ready in about a week.

Tip! I'm going to try cardamom as a mead spice with a few bottles. I put cardamom seeds in the bottle when bottling. Click: Indian lemon drink.  After all, it's extremely good and its juju is exactly that cardamom.
